Black and White scans
These were all taken with conventional 35mm and medium format cameras between the years of 1984 and 1987... Developed and printed by hand in an attic darkroom. This page has turned out to be quite long..!

Sam 1984, I went out with Sam for a couple of years, she lives somewhere near me now apparently.. I haven't seen her for a long time.. no filter used, the light is natural.
Stairs.. Another one of my 'wait for the picture to happen' images, another favourite, as in the picture below I love to capture depth, movement too...
A cycle in the woods.. this, believe it not, was my bike. A restored 1950's Raliegh, Rod brakes, hub dynamo and it weighed about 3 tons if I remember rightly...
Ruth 1985.. I didn't go out with Ruth, she was only about 15 and a friend of a friend, I was so struck by her beauty I asked to take her pic. She kindly obliged but has never seen this picture.
Bus.. This was before I owned a car!, another mirror pic, they don't have busses like this anymore do they? I suppose they use camera's now.. If you peered down the hole you could see the top of the drivers head.. ever done that?
Another 'self-portrait'.. Even today this image seems slightly disturbing somehow, It must be because of the unintentional 'dark shadow in a bedroom' feel to it.. The camera takes a picture of itself in a wall of mirrors with a long exposure, I move so as not to be recognisable, what on earth went through my head back then..?
'Nature fights back'... Taken in '86 behind the Shell garage on the A6 in Oadby, Leics. It's gone now (environmental hazard) but at the time there was a collection of about 40 1950's trucks all rotting away, there was a jeep with a tree growing through the bonnet and all sorts.. To me this pic 'says' we might think we have the upper hand, but in nature everything goes back to dust sooner or later.
Sam 1985.. no comment, the 'look' says it all.. a reluctant portrait sitter..
CND.. remember them? 40 years to the day after Hiroshima, cardboard cut-outs were chalked around all over Leicester.. I've never protested myself but this image is pretty poignant stuff.
Wilko's.. what sort of guy takes a picture of the ceiling in Wilko's...? crazy..
'Wet Sunday afternoon', taken in a guest house in Plymouth 1987, don't ask..
Liz 1987... now a policewoman.. she'd kill me if she knew I'd posted this here.. heh heh..
End of the reminiscing..
